Gasplant

(Dictamnus albus)

A bushy perennial that grows to 2ft (60cm). It has dark green shiny leaves and long spikes of delicate white flowers. It will grow in partial shade but prefers a sunny well-drained position. Sow seeds in spring. Uses The plant is grown for its ornamental value. Its leaves are lemon scented and in hot dry weather they give off an oily vapour. This vapour is flammable and will burst into flame if ignited with a flame.
