Rosemary

(Rosmarinus officianalis)

  This is an evergreen shrub that grows to 3ft (1m). The aromatic leaves are needle shaped and the flowers are pale blue. It requires a well-drained soil in a sheltered position. Propagation is by heel cuttings in spring or by root division in spring and autumn. Protect young plants from frost. Harvesting Pick fresh leaves as required and cut shoots for drying. Uses Used extensively in roast meat dishes and is particularly good in stuffings.
