This picture shows one of my allotment plots in June 1999. Because of a collapsed outlet drain under the road adjacent to the allotments, a fair bit of the site was flooded. As my 2 plots are the lowest on the site they were both like this for most of 1999. It was so bad that a pair of ducks (Teals) took up residence in the newly formed lakes.

In the foreground of the picture are my potatoes (or supposed to be, nothing came up. Funnily enough, a few actually survived and came up this year in amongst my brassicas).

The post & wire are what was left of my raspeberries.
