Melons in frames should
now be approaching ripeness and should be cut as soon as fully ripe.
Prepare the ground for
new plantings of Raspberries and Blackcurrants.
Place grease bands around
fruit trees.
Continue to cut out the
old fruited canes of raspberries.
Pick Apples and other
fruits as they ripen.
Cut out any woody stems
of summer fruiting raspberries to just above ground level. Tie in any new
shoots to prevent them being damaged in the wind.
Prepare the ground
for any new trees that you may be putting in. If buying bare rooted trees
they need to go in shortly. Container grown trees can be planted most of
the year.
