Clear away dead leaves
on water lilies and other plants and any leaves that may have blown in
the pond.
Cover the pond with
a net to prevent leaves blowing in over the winter.
Reduce the amount
of food given to the fish and only feed when they are on the surface.
Some makes of pump
may need to be removed from the pond over winter to prevent them from
freezing up and becoming damaged. Don't forget to place a ball, polystyrene
tray or heater in the pond to allow oxygen entry when the surface freezes
over.
